Diagnosis

Performing tests to rule out any additional STIs
The results of tests for additional STDs may be advised by your doctor. Chlamydia, which frequently coexists with gonorrhea, increases your risk of developing these infections when you have gonorrhea.
Anyone with a sexually transmitted infection is advised to get tested for HIV. Tests for additional STDs might be helpful as well, depending on your risk factors.
Treatment
Adult gonorrhea treatment
Antibiotics are used to treat adults with gonorrhea. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises treating uncomplicated gonorrhoea with the antibiotic ceftriaxone administered as a shot, also known as an injection, due to the emergence of drug-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae strains.
For up to seven days following the administration of the antibiotic, you could still infect others. For at least seven days, refrain from sexual activity.
Partners' treatment for gonorrhea
Even if they show no symptoms, your sexual partner or partners from the previous 60 days need to be screened and treated as well. You can contract the disease again through sex if they aren't treated for gonorrhea while you are. Prior to engaging in any sexual activity with your partner, wait seven days after the treatment.
Treatment for infant gonorrhea
Antibiotics can be used to treat babies born to gonorrheic mothers who contract the infection.
